COLAS is a French company specializing in the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructures, such as roads, freeways, railroads and airports in many countries around the world. COLAS is recognized for its expertise in public works, innovation in materials and construction techniques.
The company is committed to sustainable development, while respecting the planet. It innovates to limit pollution, use recycled materials and consume less energy. On its worksites, COLAS also takes care to produce less waste and reduce its impact on nature. With these actions, it shows that it is possible to build responsibly and respectfully of the environment.
COLAS, one of Europe’s leading construction and public works companies, approached us to design a safety label to be fitted to certain construction equipment. The label had to have specific technical features: sturdiness, fire resistance and bright colors. We came up with a flame key-ring made from lightweight, waterproof M1-class tarpaulin. We then developed other production methods: embroidery and weaving, to suit different needs.
The familiar term “Remove Before Flight” has been replaced by “Safety OK”. The brand logo was integrated into the flame, to reinforce the visual identity while retaining the technical properties required. Given the success of these identification label models, numerous agencies and branches contacted us to produce their own COLAS flames.
