ET 4/61 BÉARN Squadron: who are they?
The French Air and Space Force has formed the Escadron de Transport 4/61 BÉARN as a specialized unit for strategic and tactical transport. Stationed at Orléans-Bricy air base 123, this squadron operates the Airbus A400M Atlas.
After suspending its activities on August 25, 2017, the army reactivated the squadron on September 9, 2021 under its current name. (photo credit: Facebook association l’Escadron de Transport 4/61 BÉARN)
MISSIONS and equipment
The squadron plays a key role in the French army’s air transport operations. It rapidly deploys troops, and provides logistical support and medical evacuation to the zones of engagement.
Thanks to the A400M Atlas, a latest-generation military aircraft, it can carry up to 37 tonnes of cargo, 116 parachutists and cover more than 8,000 km. It can land on undeveloped surfaces, even in high-risk areas.
Our adventure with ET Béarn
The association of the famous Escadron de Transport 4/61 BÉARN contacted us, to produce their collection of flame key-rings in woven and leather versions . Thanks to the talent of Régis Rocca (Painter with the French Air Force and Space Corps)Each of these flames has an exceptional rendering. They feature the superb Airbus A400M Atlas, a giant of the skies embodying power and safety, as well as the famous expression “Remove Before Flight”.
Over the years, models and colors have expanded to delight collectors.. It’s an honor and a pleasure to work with the ET BÉARN association and support them in these colorful projects.
