Founded in 1970 by Rashmi Thakrar and based in Rainham, England, the company has established itself as the UK’s best-selling rice brand, while expanding its presence in over 50 countries. With offices in Dubai and Delhi, TILDA continues to combine tradition and innovation, becoming part of the Spanish rice group Ebro Foods in 2019. It has over 280 employees in the UK and 2,500 partner farmers to support responsible and committed production.
At TILDA, commitment is at the heart of their values. Since 2012, the partnership with the “World Food Program” has provided over 5.8 million nutritious meals. To help pregnant women and young mothers in need. And the spirit of solidarity doesn’t stop there: TILDA continues to actively support charities, distributing over 104,000 meals.
In 2023, TILDA became the first rice brand in the UK to be B Corp certified, underlining their commitment to sustainability. In India, over 2,700 farmers have been trained in eco-responsible techniques such as alternate irrigation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50%.
